Adult DevelopmentJulia is examining the problem of comorbidity in the diagnosis of personality disorders and role of the Alternative Model for Personality Disorders (AMPD) in DSM-5 for addressing the problem. She'll be looking at the core elements of personality functioning in Criterion A of the AMPD: identity, self-direction, empathy, and intimacy. She is testing the hypothesis that the four elements can discriminate between borderline and antisocial personality features. Email Julia: jkearney@villanova.edu

Dark Triad and Social MediaTeodora is studying how individuals high in the "dark triad" of personality traits (Psychopathy, Narcissism, Machiavellianism) interact in the comments sections of social media when presented with controversial topics such as gun control and cancel culture. Personality and SelectionThis project examines how people respond to the Personality Assessment Inventory (PAI) when it is used to screen for mental disorders in a personnel selection context. The project is currently attempting to cross-validate several procedures designed to detect attempts to conceal psychopathology under pressures to make a positive impression.
